Typical HI 21cm emission line profile from a single dish (integrated) observation of a galaxy. The classic steep sided profile gives relatively unambiguous measurements of the projected rotation amplitude of the galaxy. The W50 and W20 are the full withs across the profile at 50% adn 20% of the peak height.
